UBC's upgrade agreement with Sun Microsystems provides owners of Sun workstations on campus with Sun software at greatly reduced prices. We have added X-86-based Systems to our Software Licensing program; customers can now run Solaris on both SPARC and X-86 systems.
Currently, the agreement covers the following software packages:
- Sun Operating System (Solaris 8.0)
- Sun Workshop University Edition 6.0, which includes:
- Sun Visual WorkShop C 6.0
- Sun Permformance WorkShop Fortran 6.0
- Sun Workshop Professional C 6.0
- Sun WorkShop Compilers C/C 6.0
- Sun WorkShop University Edition 6.0
- Sun WorkShop TeamWare 2.1
