Recent Upgrades to UBC’s Wireless Network

UBC IT recently upgraded its wireless networks in order to improve performance and resiliency. As a result of these changes a small number of people using computers running older versions of MacOS, Windows, and iOS have been impacted.

You are affected by these changes if you are using one of the following:

Mac OS 10.7.5 (Lion) or older

  • As individual drivers are not available in Mac OS we can only recommend upgrading to the latest version of the Mac OS operating system through the Mac App Store. Visit http://www.apple.com/ca/osx/how-to-upgrade/ for details.

iOS 5.1.1 or older

Windows computer running drivers from around 2012 or earlier

Unaffected devices

  • If your computer is not running one of the Operating System/driver versions listed above, try visiting UBC AutoConnect to reset all of your settings. In many cases, this will fix your wireless connection issue!
