The 2nd annual Privacy Matters @ UBC Symposium on Tuesday, October 29 was an overwhelming success!

Nearly 250 staff and faculty joined in-person and online to hear about Privacy and Security initiatives being undertaken by the Privacy and Information Security Management (PrISM) team. Beginning with an Information Security update from Don Thompson, Chief Information Security Officer, the variety of topics covered throughout the day included: the impact that ever-changing privacy laws are having on UBC staff and faculty, how electronic identities will evolve with the introduction of Workday and an eye-opening introduction to the malicious world of phishing by Associate Director, Information Security Management, Larry Carson.

If you would like to learn more about many of the topics discussed at the Symposium, or if your unit would benefit from a customized presentation regarding privacy and information security, please visit the Privacy Matters website for more details.
