UBC has a new landing page for all things Canvas

October 17, 2017

This fall marked UBC’s soft launch of Canvas, the new user-friendly online course platform that’s gradually replacing Connect at UBC. So far, nearly 27,000 students and more than 3,000 instructors, staff, and TAs are using the new system, and more courses will continue to be added to Canvas each semester as we get closer to decommissioning Connect in August 2018.

To make sure instructors and students have the information they need to get the most out of Canvas and to support users during the transition from Connect, UBC has launched about.canvas.ubc.ca—a new landing page for all things Canvas at UBC. From there, users can access the Canvas website for instructors, which features Canvas news and tips, a timeline showing when new teaching tools will be added to Canvas, and links to helpful training and support resources.

The new landing page also links to A UBC Student’s Guide to Canvas, which includes a Canvas blog written by students on UBC's Learning Technology Environment Renewal project team.

We hope you find these resources helpful. If you have questions about Canvas, please reach out to your faculty’s Instructional Support Unit or contact the Learning Technology Hub.
