UBC Studios, part of UBC Information Technology, has won the Times Higher Education 2014-2015 World University Rankings video competition. The winning video was selected from a shortlist of five videos, which included contenders from Canada, Russia, and Australia.

The competition asked students and staff around the world to demonstrate how their university was world class. UBC Studio's entry highlighted "the beauty of our surroundings", the "richness of cultures", the "amazing professors", "fantastic research opportunities" and other attributes of the university.

"We were so happy to hear that we made the shortlist and thrilled to hear that we won," said Bruce Marchfelder, Creative Director at UBC Studios. "Special thanks to the dedicated team at UBC Studios and the students and staff who contributed to the project. The passion, vision, and excellence that we hope is reflected in the video is a natural result of being able to work and study at UBC, a university which aspires to the same."

You can view the award-winning short video on the Times Higher Education website.
