UBC’s Emerging Media Lab (EML) is an experimental lab space where faculty, students, and staff from all disciplines collaborate to evolve learning by creating tools and techniques using emerging media technologies.
EML provides lab resources and expertise to manage, design and develop innovative software projects. EML hires teams twice a year and provides space for these teams who collaborate and work under the direction of faculty PIs as subject matter experts in pursuit of developing new technologies that can be applied in teaching/learning or research settings. Project teams originate with the PIs and include students and staff.
Features and Benefits
Emerging media projects can be complex but EML staff support the whole cycle of design, development and proof-of-concept, and as projects show promise acceleration to viable products. EML team will determine project scope, tasks, and experiment to find solutions to meet project goals.
