UBC IT’s website has a new look!
April 30, 2025

We are excited to announce the launch of our newly refreshed UBC IT website! With a fresh, updated look and feel, this revamped site has been designed with improved usability and enhanced accessibility in mind, making it easier to navigate and find the information you need.

This update is part of UBC IT’s broader strategy to enhance our web properties and ensure compliance with UBC’s security standards and current accessibility requirements. The UBC IT website is substantial, with 800 pages of content and 80 services offered to the UBC community, this website is visited 6 million times per year. We are committed to providing a seamless experience for all users, and the new website reflects these ongoing efforts.

UBC IT website enhancements include:

  • Knowledge Base articles: 252 knowledge base articles are now integrated with the UBC IT website to help users find what they need faster.
  • New Projects section: We now have a place to share information about current IT projects we’re working on.
  • Refreshed IT News section: The News section has been updated to help you keep current with IT announcements and IT-related events.
  • New Getting Started pages: Customized service pages by audience (Faculty, Staff, Students, and research) for improved access to our service information.
  • Improved digital ecosystem: We’ve added more connection points to our suite of other IT websites for easier navigation between IT websites
  • Updated content: Over 100 webpages were updated to reflect our current service offerings, working with 23 service owners.
  • Chatbot (currently in development): A chatbot will help users navigate IT information in our digital ecosystem easier, helping to locate information on the UBC IT, Privacy Matters, and Generative AI websites.

We value your input! As we continue to refine and improve the website, we encourage you to share your feedback with us. Your insights will help us ensure the site meets the needs of the university community and stays with best practices.
