Privacy & Information Security - Fundamentals
The training covers the fundamental knowledge that everyone should have about privacy and information security, including units on:
- Privacy & Personal Information
- Storage & Encryption of Information
- Transmission & Sharing of Information
- Working Remotely
- Phishing
- Disclosure of Information
- Freedom of Information Requests
- Managing Records and Information
- Managing Accounts and Passwords
- Tips and Reminders
It is a mandatory requirement for faculty, staff, researchers, student employees and contractors who use UBC Electronic Information and Systems.
Privacy and Information Security – IT Professionals
The training covers the knowledge that all University IT Support Staff should have about privacy and information security, including units on:
- Obligations of an IT Professional
- Securing & Managing Accounts and Passwords
- Protecting Systems
- Acquiring, Developing & Modifying Software Applications
- Logging & Monitoring
- Incident Response
It is a mandatory requirement for faculty, staff, researchers, student employees and contractors who are Technical Owners of UBC systems and University IT Support Staff. This training should be taken after you have completed Fundamentals Part 1 & Part 2.
