Survey Tool

Overview

The UBC Survey Tool is provided by Qualtrics. It is an easy-to-use, top-tier survey tool platform that offers a wide range of features. It complies with the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) because the survey data is kept secure and is stored and backed up in Canada.

NOTE: If you use the UBC Survey Tool, your name will be available to other users of the tool. This feature is important to facilitate collaboration.

The UBC Survey Tool is available to all UBC faculty, staff, actively enrolled students, and sponsored guests with an active CWL account. Users can login at https://ubc.qualtrics.com with their CWL account to access the tool immediately.

Before accessing the UBC Survey Tool for the first time, it is important for you to read the Terms of Use.

Getting Started

Important Note: The time zone of your Qualtrics account is set to Mountain Time by default. To switch to Pacific Time, navigate to Account Settings by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of your screen. Select the desired time zone under Change Time Zone. The new setting will be saved automatically, and will remain unless manually updated.


Support

Support and resources are available via Qualtrics and UBC IT. Qualtrics offer 24/7 support to answer all your inquiries about the tool and guidance on how to construct your surveys. Contact UBC IT for account inquiries.

    Learning Technology Hub Resources

    The Learning Technology Hub staff, Learning Technology Rovers and other Instructional Support Staff in both campuses (including UBC Okanagan) are trained to help users on how to create their surveys and they know the basic functionality of the UBC Survey Tool.
