All active UBC students with a CWL will now be able to download Office 365 at no cost. (What do we mean by "active students"?) The installation of this software includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, which are also supported across multiple devices. Students running Windows will also be able to install Publisher and Access.
Students can obtain their free subscription to Office 365 via download.ubc.ca, which will lead to the creation of a new UBC-specific Office 365 account. Students can then use that account to login to Microsoft's Office Portal and download the full suite of programs.
The Office 365 software will expire annually, but can be renewed if the student is still enrolled in at least one class at UBC. The software can be installed on up to five devices and is compatible with iPad/iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone.
Currently, Office 365 is not available for Staff and Faculty, but Microsoft Applications are still covered on UBC-owned computers through the UBC Campus Agreement.
