Remote Access to Labs FAQs

We recommend MS Teams and OneDrive for collaboration with other peers. Learn how to share your computer session.
By default, the remote session will automatically time out and log you out after 30 minutes of inactivity and a disconnected session will be terminated after 10 minutes (unless otherwise communicated by your Faculty).
UBC MS OneDrive provides you with 1 TB of data storage and allows you to securely store files and folders from anywhere at any time. To access OneDrive:
  • Go to https://portal.office.com
  • Sign in with your UBC email
    For students - cwl@student.ubc.ca
    For faculty and staff - firstname.lastname@ubc.ca
Note: A OneDrive shortcut will be available on the windows lab computer desktop. If you have access issues or a question please refer to the login instructions and additional Features and Benefits section.
Within a remote session you can print documents to a pdf file using Microsoft Print to PDF and save it to MS OneDrive or email it to yourself.
