The Home Drive Storage Service provides Staff and Faculty with 20GB of storage space. You can use the Home Drive Storage Service to store your business related files, and can also be used for incidental personal use, as noted in Policy #104. By storing your files on the home drive service, your files are accessible to you from any computer connected to the UBC network (e.g. from your office or over VPN).
The Home Drive Storage Service also provides protection for your files, as all data stored on your Home Drive is backed up daily, and retained for a period of 30 days, making the files recoverable for up to 30 days.
The Home Drive Storage Service is available to Faculty and Staff that meet the eligibility requirements for an EAD account.
All UBC employees with an active UBC employee ID are eligible once they have an Enterprise Active Directory account (EAD). Home Drive accounts for eligible employees are automatically enabled as part of the new employee onboarding process.
To map your Home Drive Storage Service, or recover files from it, please see the Setup Documents page.
